People are stressing out for no reason but it’s so funny. $1.1 bill isn’t even enough to buy this site I mean back then they paid $3.6B for Geocities and that site wasn’t even nearly as successful or potentially profitable as Tumblr is. Like I would honestly be surprised if they accepted the offer anyway =P
I’ll say it again:
The “sources” you are all linking to are using misleading headlines. No where in the articles do they say that tumblr actually approved of the purchase. Yahoo’s board just literally approved of the purchase, there’s no way they’ve proposed a deal to tumblr yet.
Tumblr will probably sell. But Yahoo probably won’t actually change anything. The only people who are likely going to notice change are tumblr’s investors who will suddenly have a lot more money.
